What's
With the Name?
VANTÁGIO
(pronounced vahn-TAH-jee-oh) is the Italian word
for advantage or benefit. It pays homage to Italian
fashion, and to the original innovators of fabric
care. The dry cleaners of ancient Rome you see
pictured to the left were fanatic about finding
new and better ways to care for the tunics and
togas of the movers and shakers of the Republic.

Part of our mission is your health. 98% of other
dry cleaners use a chemical called perchloroethylene
(PERC). PERC is considered a probable carcinogen
by the EPA, and is widely recognized as a toxic
ground contaminant. California has already decided
to phase out (ban) PERC because of the health
and environmental risks. Vantagio uses an eco-friendly
liquid silicone and wet-cleaning process - both
of which have been endorsed as green alternatives
by the California Air Resources Board.
